Terms of Use & License Agreement

Plain-language summary. AHL Sight is an educational planning aid. Its numbers are estimates — always confirm your zero and dope with live fire. You are responsible for following every firearm law and safety rule. The app is provided “as is,” with no warranty, and our liability is limited. This summary is not a substitute for the full terms below.

1. Acceptance of these terms

AHL Sight (the “App”), the website at ahlsight.com, and all related guides and services (together, the “Service”) are provided by Ahlchemy Author Company (“Ahlchemy,” “we,” “us”). By installing, opening, or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be legally an adult in your jurisdiction, or have the consent of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf.

2. License

Subject to these terms, Ahlchemy grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own lawful, non-commercial purposes. We (and our licensors) retain all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including its software, content, guides, cartridge data, and branding. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the Service except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits.

3. Educational use & no reliance

The Service is an educational and planning aid. Every trajectory, zero, drop, wind, DOPE value, range estimate, and cartridge figure it produces is a mathematical estimate based on the inputs you provide and on simplified models of the real world. Actual results depend on your specific rifle, ammunition lot, optic, mounting, atmosphere, and technique, and will differ from the App’s predictions.

You must independently verify all output with live fire on a safe range before relying on it. Do not use the Service as your sole basis for taking any shot, and never rely on it in any situation where an error could cause injury, death, or property damage. The Service is not intended for, and must not be used for, any unlawful purpose.

4. Firearm law & safety responsibility

You are solely responsible for the safe and lawful handling of firearms and ammunition. You must know and comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and foreign laws and regulations governing the ownership, possession, transport, and use of firearms, ammunition, and optics in your location. AHL Sight does not sell, broker, or facilitate the sale of firearms, ammunition, or regulated accessories, and nothing in the Service is legal advice.

Always follow the fundamental rules of firearm safety, including: treat every firearm as loaded; never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy; keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have decided to fire; and be certain of your target and what is beyond it. Ahlchemy is not responsible for how you use firearms or the information the Service provides.

5. Pro purchases, subscriptions & refunds

Some features are offered as “AHL Sight Pro.” Where Pro is purchased directly through our website, payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card details (see the Privacy Policy). Where Pro is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store processes the payment and its terms and refund policies apply.

A Pro license unlocks convenience, personalization, sync, and sharing features. It does not unlock or alter any ballistic calculation or safety guide — those are and remain free. Prices are shown at checkout and may change for future purchases. Except where required by law or a store’s policy, direct purchases are final; if you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 7 days at the address below and we will work with you in good faith.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service unlawfully or to facilitate an unlawful act; probe, overload, or interfere with our servers, APIs, or licensing/sync systems; attempt to bypass Pro licensing or access another user’s data; upload malicious code; or scrape, republish, or resell our content or data without permission. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CALCULATION, DATA, OR ESTIMATE IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AHLCHEMY AND ITS OWNERS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR — WITHOUT LIMITATION — ANY PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR US $20. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ahlchemy from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your firearm or ammunition activity, or your breach of these terms or of any law.

10. Apple App Store & Google Play terms

If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these terms are between you and Ahlchemy only, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and to the extent it conflicts with these terms, the Apple EULA governs the Apple-specific points. You represent that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. embargo or on a U.S. prohibited-parties list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple has no obligation to provide support or handle warranty, product-liability, or intellectual-property claims for the App; those are our responsibility as set out here.

If you obtained the App from Google Play, Google’s Play Terms of Service also apply, and you agree to comply with them. The App is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple or Google.

11. Changes to the Service or terms

We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, and we may revise these terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app’s change log. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Missouri, except where a store’s terms or mandatory local law require otherwise.
