Privacy Policy

The short version. Your rifle setups, profiles, sessions, and settings live on your device. We collect anonymous counts of which features are used to improve the app. Feedback you send, and optional cloud sync, are the only places you choose to share more. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t see your full payment-card details.

Who we are

AHL Sight is a ballistic planning aid published by Ahlchemy Author Company (“Ahlchemy,” “we,” “us”). This policy covers the AHL Sight app and the website at ahlsight.com. We are the controller of the limited personal data described here.

Data that stays on your device

By design, the information you enter — your loads and rifle setups, saved profiles, atmosphere presets, shooting sessions, reticle and comparison choices, units, and app settings — is stored locally on your device (in your browser’s local storage). We do not receive it unless you choose to turn on cloud sync or send it to us as part of feedback. Clearing your browser data, or using the in-app “Export/Restore backup” feature, is entirely under your control.

What we collect, and why

We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise GPS location, or browsing history, and we do not sell or rent personal data or use it for third-party advertising. Any weather lookups you request are sent to a weather provider using the coordinates you enter or approve, solely to return conditions for your calculation.

Payments

If you purchase AHL Sight Pro through our website, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects and processes your payment details directly under its own privacy policy; we receive only a confirmation that a payment succeeded and a token to issue your license — we never see or store your full card number. If you purchase Pro through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store handles the payment under its own privacy terms.

Cloud sync & backups (optional)

Cloud sync is off unless you turn it on. When enabled, a copy of your app data is stored on our hosting provider’s key-value storage, addressed by a sync code that you set and share only with your own devices. Recent restore points may be kept so you can roll back an accidental change. You can stop syncing at any time; to have server-side sync data deleted, contact us with your sync code.

Hosting, cookies & analytics

The Service is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes technical request data (such as IP address and device/browser type) to deliver and secure the site, under its own terms. We may use Cloudflare’s privacy-focused Web Analytics, which measures page views without cookies and without tracking individuals across sites. We use only the storage strictly necessary to run the app (for your settings and license) and do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Legal basis (EEA/UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent for optional feedback and sync; our legitimate interests in maintaining, securing, and improving the Service (anonymous usage counts, hosting security); and contract performance to deliver Pro features you purchase.

Your choices & rights

You can clear the app’s local data from your device at any time, decline or stop sync, and choose not to submit feedback. Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR/UK GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold very little that identifies you, please include enough detail (such as your feedback email or sync code) for us to locate it. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise a right, contact us below.

Children

The Service is intended for a general audience of shooters and enthusiasts and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, noted in the app’s change log. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
